Add-on · Ordering

Ordering, kitchen and QR: on the same table you already have booked.

Comandas is Qomanda's optional ordering module. The waiter picks a table that's already seated on the floor plan and fires the order from their phone; the kitchen sees it instantly on its screen; and if you want, guests order themselves by scanning a QR. It's an extra you switch on only if you want it: it isn't part of the €49/month reservations plan.

Why here

Because the table already knows who sat down.

The difference of taking the order inside Qomanda is that the table doesn't start blank. That table comes from a reservation: you know whose it is, how many they are, whether allergies are noted on their profile and how long they've been seated. The waiter doesn't have to key the table into another system or reconcile two different screens.

That's why Comandas isn't a generic POS bolted on the side: it's the same floor plan you already use during service, with ordering on top. You tap the table, take the order, and move on.

On the floor

The waiter orders from their phone, without walking back to the bar.

The waiter opens the table from the plan, adds dishes from your menu and fires the order. They can leave a note per line —"medium rare", "no onion", "dessert later"— and the kitchen sees it exactly as written.

Every dish carries its price and allergens, so the menu's information doesn't live in someone's head. And when the table closes, its ticket comes out with the detail of what was consumed.

In the kitchen

A kitchen screen, with no tickets getting lost.

The kitchen screen (KDS) shows the orders in progress and which state each line is in: pending, preparing, ready, served. The kitchen marks what's going out and the floor sees it without asking.

There's no paper ticket getting wet, misfiled or misread at half nine on a Saturday. And because everything runs through one place, how long each table is taking stops being a hunch.

Self-ordering

The table's QR, if you want guests to order themselves.

Each table can have its own QR. The guest scans it, sees your menu with photos and prices, and orders from their phone. There's also a button to call the waiter, which shows up as an alert on the floor.

You decide how much rope to give it: QR orders can go straight to the kitchen or wait for the waiter's approval, which is the sensible setting when you've got big groups and the odd joker. And payment for self-ordering can happen at the table with the waiter, as always, or online on the spot if you enable online charging on your own Stripe account.

No smoke

What Comandas is, and what it isn't.

Comandas is a light POS: menu, ordering, kitchen screen, QR self-ordering and a ticket when the table closes. It's built so the floor and the kitchen move as one, leaning on the reservations you already manage.

We're not going to sell you that it replaces a full management system with accounting, inventory and cost control: it isn't that, and we'd rather say so up front. If that's exactly what you need, we'll tell you.

And the price: Comandas isn't part of the €49/month reservations plan. It's an extra contracted separately, and what it costs depends on your case — so we talk, and we tell you straight.

How it gets going

From menu to kitchen, in four steps.

  1. 01

    Build your menu

You create your categories (starters, mains, desserts, wine) and add each dish with its price, photo and allergens. That single menu feeds both the waiter's ordering screen and the QR self-ordering.

  2. 02

    Switch the add-on on

Comandas appears in your sidebar as soon as it's enabled. If you don't enable it, the module stays invisible and the app remains exactly the reservations one.

  3. 03

Take the order from the plan

The waiter taps a seated table, adds dishes and fires the order. Per-line notes reach the kitchen exactly as written.

  4. 04

The kitchen sees it and marks it

The kitchen screen receives the order and the kitchen marks each line as it goes out. When the table closes, its ticket is generated.

Questions

Before you make the move.

What restaurants thinking about switching usually ask us. No fine print.

No. The €49/month per restaurant covers everything reservation-related (your own booking engine, floor plan, CRM, analytics, waitlist, reminders, deposits and the voice bot). Comandas is an optional add-on contracted separately, and what it costs depends on your case: email hola@qomanda.es and we'll tell you straight.
